RWPW - History

  • The Prince William Republican Women’s Club was the first Republican Women’s club in the County.  We were founded in 1970 to educate, inform, and motivate women to become political activists and to run for elective office. Our mission and goals include increasing the effectiveness of women in support of good governance at all levels; enhancing links to the Prince William County Community through political education and informational activities; and promoting the principles of the Republican Party.

  • We strengthen the Republican Party by recruiting, training and electing candidates; advocating the Party’s philosophy and initiatives; and empowering women of all ages, ethnicity and background in the political process. We work to increase our Club’s Leadership Legacy in the number of Republican Women located in Prince William [and Stafford] County who hold elective office such as in the U.S. Congress, on the Prince William County (PWC) and Stafford County Board of Supervisors, School Board, as Clerk of the Court, and in other leadership roles at all levels of government.

  • Many of our members have been appointed to senior positions in our County, State and Federal governments, as well as on State Boards and Commissions. We also have RWPW Club members who have been elected to leadership positions in Republican Committees and serve as paid members of campaign staffs and/or are on the staff of elected officials.

“Republicans got to stop sitting on the sidelines and allowing the Democrats to do a better job of voting early. I’m tired of us going into elections down thousands of votes,” - Governor Glenn Youngkin
